Selden chemicals are septic tank friendly

Septic Tanks

Some of our customers are not on the main sewage line therefore have their own waste system often in the form of a septic tank or reed bed.

Which chemicals are safe to use?

ALL of Selden's detergents (floor cleaners, housekeeping chemicals etc) are biodegradable and are safe for use with premises that have a septic tank.

Contrary to the general concern, detergents are actually GOOD for septic tanks. Basically, detergents keep the bugs happy.

Detergents can keep your sewage system working. They will help;

  • Keep drains clear
  • Solubilize fats, grease and oils
  • Save you money on blockages!

But what about acidic or alkaline toilet cleaners going in my Septic Tank?

The best analogy to use is a 'drop in the ocean'. The volume of acid used is such a minuscule ratio to water that it will absolutely not harm the septic tank. Saying that, for your peace of mind, we can provide non-acid toilet cleaner.

If Selden do it, you can too

Selden Research have their own septic tanks which is where all waste from their factory goes. Think of all the millions of gallons of chemical waste that passed through the septic tank that is then flushed away.
