Congratulations to Bracknell Leisure Centre

A huge congratulations are in order for our customers over at Bracknell Leisure Centre.

On Saturday 27th April the centre took part in the national Swimathon and raised a staggering amount of money for Marie Curie Cancer Care, who look after patients in the comfort of their own home in the final stages of their life. An amazing charity that I'm sure many of us can appreciate the work they do for our loved ones.

Team GB Swimmer, Andrew Willis, even turned up to show his support and mingle with the swimmers.

Mike Blackburne, Duty Manager has this to say;

'The event went really well and we've raised over £12,500 already with more to come hopefully.  Thank you so much for your very kind donation, we put some into the pot and the rest into he prize fund for the raffle which went down a storm!'

Caroline Lasenby, Marketing Support Officer at Bracknell Leisure Centre was equally delighted with their contribution to the charity;

'Well done to all of our swimmers, nearly everyone beat their expected finish time by 10-15mins!  A special thank you to our sponsor Source Supplies and our amazing volunteers who helped run the event.  Together we have raised over 650 Marie Curie nursing hours, that's nearly a month of round-the-clock nursing and support for cancer patients at home.'
